On Wednesday, September 20, join The Cheese Shop, Paula de Pano of Rocks + Acid, and Belltree Cocktail Club for the ultimate wine and cheese dinner, as we travel through The British Isles and showcase wines and cheeses from countries very dear to our head British cheesemonger's heart and palate: England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. Throughout the evening, we'll showcase six cheese-centric courses from amuse bouche to dessert.
The Cheese Shop's head cheesemonger, Stevie Lee Webb and Rocks+Acid's Paula de Pano will be your guides along this culinary journey, discussing each cheese, accoutrement, and wine; their history, origin, flavor profile, and pairing notes.
Paula is an award-winning sommelier, wine educator, and one of the leading wine professionals of the South and is the former Beverage Director for the Five Diamond, Relais & Chateaux Fearrington House Inn and Fearrington Village in Pittsboro, NC.
Paula was also Senior Sommelier at Eleven Madison Park, New York City’s prestigious, three Michelin star restaurant and “Best Restaurant in the World.” Originally from Manila, De Pano attended the Culinary Institute of America and holds the Advanced Sommelier title from The Court of Master Sommeliers Americas, the second-highest sommelier ranking, following Master Sommelier.
Tickets start at $140 per person and include tax and gratuity. A limited number of dedicated tables of two can be reserved for $300. A detailed menu will be released ahead of the event and will include six courses and wine pairings.
